This is a really great series of tutorial created by digitaltutors.com on modelling and painting in Mudbox 2012, check them out:
I am beyond ecstatic after watching this, one reason is well, who doesn’t love Tyrannosaurus Rex? Secondly, because it’s show how useful Mudbox is going to be in my future projects. I’ve often found myself “dumbing down” a design because I just don’t have the time to do the detail I want all by myself. This looks like a time saver and also just a great way to improve my overall skills. It’s like have clay and paints in an art studio, only your making it on a computer. It jumps pass the cliche painful polygon character (one’s so sharp you could cut your eyes on it) to smoother, detailed models. From what I can tell it can help give definition, skin and more to model.
