April 21st, 2009 Hussam_3h No comments

A presentation by Hussam AlMukhtar, ’11, Com. major, for the Ignation Scholarship Day about life in Baghdad, Iraq before and after the war in 2003.

The presentation featured pictures, from Baghdad before and after 2003, refugees, and a trip to the US, integrated with music. Pictures that Iraqis lived through, stored in mind, and think about everyday.

The music is played on the Oud instrument (http://www.oud.eclipse.co.uk/) by the world most famous Oud player, Naseer Shamma. In his music, Shamma represents what happened in AlAmeria Shelter in Baghdad in 1991 using 5 themes (Joy, danger and alert, sorrow, funeral, and hope)
